hey guys the old white macbook used to cost $1300 for the 2.4 GHz models but now the new alu macbooks have quite a significant price hike and a processor speed decrease. The new macbooks are priced at $1299 but we can only get a 2GHz processor. I know that there are extra costs for the new GPUs but still apple should not remove that extra speed from the processor. Anyway is 0.4GHz significant in the operating speed of a laptop?:)

my old blackbook was 2.4ghz and my new alum macbook is 2.0ghz, but i really can't tell the diff in speed.

i heard that it's the amount of ram that makes a real diff.

The 2.4 blackbook is 20% faster than the new 2.0 MB in benchmark tests. My friend has the new 2.0 Macbook and I had the blackbook (sold it for the new 2.4 that I hate and returning it) and it was a noticeable difference when we tested them side by side on the same apps. That is why I bought the 2.4 new one which now I regret.

Why do you regret buying the aluminium 2.4 macbook?
