If I buy a Mac Pro from apple, will it come with an old white keyboard, or an aluminum one?

What if I bought a refurb?

Thanks, :)

As the Mac Pro's are so expensive you get a trial of iWork and a(n) aluminum keyboard and mighty mouse (white). If you are lucky there may be a trial of MS Office.

You do not get Nanosaur though. For that you pay extra.

doh!

my mistake. Apple are so cheap you get the old keyboard. You can buy the new one later on though and use the old one to type letters about customer care to Apple.

seriously the Mac Pro is soon to be updated inc. the new keyboard. hold fire if you can till MWSF

ok, thanks...

not the answer I wanted though! heh
:)

I like the old keyboards better, but they're crumb machines. The outer part is a stupid design.

If Apple builds a numpad in the wireless version of the new keyboard, I'll buy it. In the meantime, I'll stick to the old one.

Agreed, on the crumbs… but I wouldn't buy one of the new ones.

The keyboard is the reason I switched to Apple (foolish, eh?) :)

New keyboard is better. Old keyboard is awful to use. :)

Maybe someone should start a poll... totally a personal preference thing.

me too, i've hated that old keyboard for years, and since i've had a chance to get used to the new style on my macbook, i've grown quite fond of it....

agreed, my keyboard is covered inside with hair and crumbs and its horrible to clean every few months...

although i prefer the wireless version having no number keypad, nice to be able to wander about with it not weighing half a ton, unlike this one...

does anyone else think the old keys are a work out?
i sometimes think you have to push really hard... i mean compare it to the MBP keys and even the new keyboard for Imac.

anyone else feel this way?

I found my older keyboards would become increasingly less smooth over time. I am happy with the aluminum one, more than I thought I would be. It is very comfortable to use.

My only complaint, like everyone else, is there is not a wireless version that has a number pad.

I´d be intrested to know how many people actually need the number pad?
Of the people I know nobody uses them.
I understand some people in the speciality field find them relevant, say, programmers, accountants and people from the peanut gallery in general.
It is a relic from the IBM computing era, when the computers were used for,you know, computing stuff?

Wonder if the apple has done some profound survey in the area and have found out that 99% people dont use it?

I personally hate the white BT keyboard. Not only because it is a piece of **** (allready broken) but because it takes so much space.
With a wacom, mouse and the keyboard, the desk space runs out fast.

Maybe that is why I have 2 of the alu ones on order atm...
