Hi all. Last night, my friend down the street had some problems with his imac and keyboard. Now you can only have this problem with the aluminum keyboard, and its very rare, because there was only one thing we found similar to it last night.
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjgTLDhOw4U) Anyway, the scenario goes like this:
1st start - volume up doesn't work
2nd start - volume constantly tries to go as loud as possible. Does not stop.
3rd start - Dido to second.
Now, you may have just decided to unplug the keyboard so the volume will stop going up. NOPE. Causes Kernel Panic. Then you go through this for hours trying to figure out what it is. Can't figure it out.
-*Solution*-
First, you need to download this program called onyX. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/11582
It's free, and totally safe.
Once you download and install onyX go to "Cleaning". Once under cleaning, make sure you check off "kernel", Press execute and your ready to go. (It will quit any applications you have running, but it DOES fix your volume/ kernel problem)
