I've been having this problem with my aluminum macbook since a few months after I got it about a year ago. I have a problem with the machine that seems to be related to it cooling down. If I try to wake my laptop up from sleep after it has cooled down a bit and hasn't been in use, I will be able to click one or two things, and then it will freeze. I will have to do a hard shut down and turn it back on after this. Also, when I turn it on after it has had time to cool down from not being in use for awhile, it will take forever to turn on. On both of these occasions, turning it on and waking it up from sleep, it will make a noise on the bottom that is hard to describe - kind of like a high pitched clicking noise. Sometimes it takes a good 7-8 minutes for my laptop to turn on, other times it will only take 3 or 4. Either way, it's longer than it should. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be?
