I was just wondering if there are any distinct differences between the October 08 Aluminum Unibody Macbook edition and the Aluminum MBP? I can't really see any, but then again I'm definitely not as qualified as some of you to make these distinctions.. The Aluminum MB i'm looking at has a 2.4ghz core 2 duo, 4gb ram, 320 gb HD, 13" obviously, Nvidia GeForce 9200M graphics... any idea of the difference?

Aluminium 13" MB: no FW800 or FW400 port, no SD card slot, worse display than the 13" MBP
Aluminium 13" MBP: FW800 port, SD card slot, better display than the 13" MB

Forgot about that: Only the 2.4GHz MB has a backlit keyboard.

Indeed it is. My only minor complaint is that the battery life is pretty average. I'd even be happy if it got the 5 hours advertized. I use it on AC most of the time anyhow so it's not really that big of a deal. I'm just jealous of all the freshmen that have the new ones with the 10 hour battery

I would expect to get that for mine with slightly lower specs.

thanks for the reply.. figure this machine will hold me over until the new MBP refresh, and if I don't like what I see, I figure it'll hold me over until perhaps the next refresh after that
