I was just wondering if there are any distinct differences between the October 08 Aluminum Unibody Macbook edition and the Aluminum MBP? I can't really see any, but then again I'm definitely not as qualified as some of you to make these distinctions.. The Aluminum MB i'm looking at has a 2.4ghz core 2 duo, 4gb ram, 320 gb HD, 13" obviously, Nvidia GeForce 9200M graphics... any idea of the difference?

Aluminium 13" MB: no FW800 or FW400 port, no SD card slot, worse display than the 13" MBP

Aluminium 13" MBP: FW800 port, SD card slot, better display than the 13" MB

do you know if the MB has the backlit keyboard? thanks for your reply

The aluminum macbook was/is still a great machine!

As always, they come out with better.

Indeed it is. My only minor complaint is that the battery life is pretty average. I'd even be happy if it got the 5 hours advertized. I use it on AC most of the time anyhow so it's not really that big of a deal. I'm just jealous of all the freshmen that have the new ones with the 10 hour battery :p

is one of these Aluminum Macbooks in great condition with 4gb Ram and a brand new 320gb hard drive 2.4ghz core 2 duo worth $675? just wondering how well I did on this buy, thanks

Yes, I think you did well.
I would expect to get that for mine with slightly lower specs.
You did good.

thanks for the reply.. figure this machine will hold me over until the new MBP refresh, and if I don't like what I see, I figure it'll hold me over until perhaps the next refresh after that
