Just wishful thinking. ;)

I just hate getting scratches easily on my brand spanking new power adapter. Although I'm really, really careful now, I wish Apple upgrades the cheap looking adapters in the near future.

Very smart.

50 milliamps, can stop your heart.

I wonder what can 180V/240V with 50A do to a human...

And people will start complaining to Apple that they got electric shock or death

I wont mind custom make one specially for you. You can be my guinea-pig =]

They might be designed like the one that charges it with the 24" monitor, but pure Alu I think not!

Nice thinking though!

at least the first they'll be complaining it gets hot to touch before getting electrocuted while on the phone wth AppleCare...

Just because something looks good doesn't mean it's a good idea. Aluminium is a electricity and heat conducting material. Just imagine a single component failure inside that power adapter. It would be catastrophic.

But of course, metal housings for electrical components electrocute nerds all the time. That's why so few people build their own computers, because the power supply is in a metal casing and they get electrocuted by it :O

And of course, why the MBP is so dangerous. :D

Really interesting replies. I noticed that most of you have concerns with the electrical implications of the aluminum, after all it's "the" power adapter we're talking about here. But it doesn't hurt to wish I guess.

I think the next best thing to making the adapter less prone to scratches is to make it solid matte black like most power adapters from PCs. Although it won't be as nice looking as the Apple white adapter, at least it won't look like it's beaten up in use.

Or better yet, make a "matte" white version. I'll keep wishing while enjoying my new MBP. :)

Death by electrocution is pretty painful, from what I can tell. So in a way it does "hurt"- or at least it will hurt.

Then it will just get dirty. You can't really win in this situation.
