AlumMacbook F8/Play&Pause key lag

Does anyone else notice that sometimes the F8 key to play and pause iTunes has a pretty bad lag. Sometimes it responds pretty quick and then others it can take anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds (which is pretty long when your trying to answer a call and need to turn off the music).

Id appreciate if you guys can let me know if anyone else is experiencing this.
