Always have to Force Quit iPhoto??

I've noticed the last few months I have to force quit iPhoto. It opens when I plug in my iPhone, which is fine, but it doesn't close on it's own. I get the color wheel but eventually I just force quit.

Any suggestions as to what's going on or how to correct it?

Perhaps your library is corrupted. Try creating a new library and see if the issue continues.

You can also try deleting in the plists in the ~/Library/Preferences.

I've had this issue ever since upgrading to Mavericks. I've done a fresh install 2x already as well, with no luck and I've done the items maflynn has recommended. Still working on a solution.
