Coming from my Series 4, I love the AOD—but would like to use it without Wake on Wrist Raise.
The problem: without AOD, I would tap the screen to wake the watch—but now tapping to wake the watch (and brighten the screen so I can see it) is treated as a tap on an "awake" watch, and I keep accidentally opening Complications.
Does anyone else find this odd? It totally changes the past behavior of tap-to-wake and requires that one either use Wake on Crown Rotation (which is a pain for my fat fingers) or figure out what I'm tapping while the watch is "asleep" and dimmed to the point it's hard to see.
Much of my frustration is doubtless due to many years of habit—I'm accustomed to touching my S4 to my nose to wake it when my right hand is occupied—so I suppose I'll get used to it.
But wouldn't it make more sense to have the first tap of a sleeping AOD watch wake it and brighten the screen—just as has always been the case with non-AOD watches?
