A question for those who use Always on Display. I prefer notifications on my phone to be in list view and not stacked view. I’ve noticed that even with notifications set to list, as well as individually for each app set to not auto group, that they still stack with the display locked. As soon as I pick up the phone and Lock Screen is unlocked they automatically switch to list mode. I’d like them to always be in list mode even with the display locked to easily glance and see everything. Bug on my end or just how it is?

Perhaps it has to do with the privacy setting of notification previews...

To show the contents of notifications on the Lock Screen without unlocking your device, go to Settings > Notifications > Show Previews, and select Always.

In iOS 17 and later, you can also view notifications while your iPhone is in StandBy.
