I’ve noticed that my always on display won’t work on my new iPhone 17 Pro - I’ve checked every setting possible, done resets, toggled options, but 9 times out of 10 my screen will turn off. It also turns off when charging (wirelessly-if that makes a difference). I have iOS 26 on my 14 Pro with no issues so I’m hoping it’s not my phone.

Anyone else? Is there a fix for this?

That's odd. It was working just fine on mine when I first received it last Friday. But it was one of the first things I turned off after setup and restoring my stuff to it.

I’m also experiencing this with the 17 Pro Max
It was actually working ok yesterday even on the charger and then stopped this morning. Did a reset and now it’s staying on. I shouldn’t have to reset so much though.

I’m having the same issue.

When do not disturb activates at 10pm it turns on low power mode and disables the always on display.

But in the morning when do no disturb deactivates and low power mode is deactivated the always on display doesn’t turn back on unless I manually turn it back on in settings. Really annoying.

Check your settings the always display will usually turn off to conserve battery if it’s past a certain time, if it’s during the day there’s a setting that also helps it save battery so it can charge faster.

To be honest the always display’s sensor will turn off the display when it’s in your pocket for and extended period to converse battery but if you put your finger over the Dynamic Island it will dim it.
