Always show notification banners (tweets while youtube videos are in fullscreen)

Hi,
the notification center really is usefull and I clearly don't want to miss it anymore (specially for tweets). This is why I hate it when the banners don't appear while I for example watch YouTube or Twitch videos in fullscreen. Is there a way to set the notifictions in the highest order or whatever so that regardless of what I am doing I will always see them when they appear?

I would be very happy if someone could help me with that regard.

Edit: Cool, in Mavericks it works, you only have to uncheck the 'do not disturb - when mirroring to TVs and projectors' under the notifications settings.
