am buying a powerbook g4, what should i see?

hello mac family! am exited as tomorrow am buying my first apple notebook, is a g4 powerbook 1.6 ghz 1gb ram and 80hdd. .

my question is what should i look for? i want to make sure it works! i am buying it from a married couple and its kida cheap too good to be truth is 380. please i need advice.

I still have a PowerBook G4 1.5Ghz around. It's alive and kicking and can deal with Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) just fine with 2GB RAM. Things should be ok with 1GB.

There were issues with the lower RAM slot going on on these. Of the two we bought, both lost the lower slot. The machine will still work, it just may seem really slow if it's running on too little memory. You can verify by going to the Apple menu -> About This Mac -> More Info. Then go to Hardware -> Memory. You should see both slots populated. Hopefully you'll be fine, otherwise the best you can do is put a 1GB chip in the upper slot. Not to be a downer on your new laptop or anything... hopefully you'll be fine.
