Is their anyway to receive AM radio using the ipod. All the radio transmitters i found are for FM only.

iPod AM/FM radio

The iPod doesn't come with a built-in radio, AM or FM. Those FM transmitters that you have seen, are used to take an output from your iPod and is broadcast (at low power) to be picked up by the receiver in your car, so that you can listen to your life soundtrack instead of whatever someone else decides to broadcast.
However, many stations are podcasting, check your favorite stations website.

There are devices like the FMXtra and iFM that allow you to listen to FM radio, but they don't offer AM. You might as well just get a tiny radio, because as far as I know, no one has anything with AM.
