I just sold my iBook G4 and need to ship it out today and my iPod is my only external hard drive (my applestore is out 
) so I am just planing on reformatting my iPod and just dragging the folders that I need. Will that work? And lets say if I drag my iPhoto folder onto my iPod then when I get my MacBook could I just drag the iPhoto folder into iPhoto and have it keep the same order of the pictures?
Also what folders do you suggest backing up. Im thinking my Music, Pictures, Documents folders; Certain videos and my Contacts. Anything else? Im pretty sure I don't need to backup my settings because they are fairly basic.
