Am I eligible for Lion?

Okay so I bought a MBP last week on the 10th and was wondering if I can get Lion for free because I bought after Jun 6th but how do they know when I bought my MBP? Am I supposed to register my MBP online? Also how do I check my warranty days till expires on Apple.com?

It's automatically logged when you buy your Mac, since that's when the warranty begins.

Depends where you purchase it from. If it's from a reseller then it's based upon registration date. If they get nasty about this in store, I'm sure they will want proof of purchase.
