I bought the iPhone 3G last year in the middle of July, and I am currently on a business plan. Should I be eligible to upgrade to the iPhone 3GS???

For some reason ATT said that I am not!!!

How is my attitude different from abiyng87's? Anyone with any experience on here is likely to give you a similar response. Re-read your question. A complete waste of time and bandwidth to ask MacRumors. Your eligibility is between you and AT&T. Call their customer service.

Don't listen to the miserable people in this forum. They're all mad because they stopped making Star Wars films and they're still virgins.

If you bought the phone in June, July, August or September, and if you are the PRIMARY line on the account AND you pay at least $99 a month on your bill you are eligible. If you really want to know, dial *639# (*new#) and you'll receive a text message telling you if you are eligible.

I see this repeated a lot here but it does not seem to apply to me. I bought my 3G on release day last year. My bill exceeds $99. Even with my FAN discount it runs about $120. Whether using *639#, the account manager website or Apple's upgrade verifier I still have to wait until March of 2010. I'm on auto-pay so it can't possibly be for anything related to payments.

Are you the primary on the account? If the number you are trying to upgrade is a secondary number it won't let you.
