ok so hypothetically speaking;

"john" wanted some red sox tickets. he found a guy in boston on craigslist that wanted 250$ a ticket. these seamed like a great price compared to stubhub. he will not hold the tickets and will only accept paypal or money order. "john" is worried about paying 500$ for 2 tickets and having them never shipped to his house or finding out at the gate that they are fake tickets.
"john" asked the guy to scan the tickets with a piece of paper that has his name on it so "john" knows there his physical tickets. the guy just sent "john" scaned images of the 2 tickets.
so what can "john" do to make sure they are legit?

John, I mean Brendan.
Craigslist is there so that you can deal locally. MANY advisements on CL will tell you that. I say you are, and you're dumb if you send any money.

To Brendan: Keep your money safe. If the situation is not up to your standard for transaction, don't spend your money. ($500 we're talking about here!)

A missing comma doesn't exactly compare to what you are about to do sweetie. :rolleyes:

What you wrote
I say you are, and you're dumb if you send any money
is the same as
I say you are, and you are dumb if you send any money

How is that correct grammar?!:D

(Sorry I am off topic here)

ya i know, i just wanted good seats so my mom could see and enjoy the game. :( i think i have to go back to stubhub and find some different tickets....

i know.
i came across the same section/row on stub hub for 60$ more a piece.
i think i might go with those just for saftey. even if it costs me more money!

If you've never bought from StubHub before you may not be aware, but their protection is amazing. Aside from the significant fact that they are in a business relationship with MLB if your tickets turn out to be fake they'll get you a comparable (or better) for free. If you get scammed on Craigslist you can write a scathing review of the anonymous poster.

Worth the extra money to, you know, actually be able to go to the game. :)
