I normally keep my MBA running 24/7 with Parallels and Windows XP open. I use Time Machine, which backs up every hour. Whenever it is backing up, my CPU temp is + / - 180 F and the cooling fans are running at 6500 rpm. Is this normal? Is there any risk that the computer will be damaged because of the high temps?

Thanks,

Barry

Perhaps if it was running at those temperatures for 24/7, yes. But still, it would take a long time. It is designed to be able to run at that temperature, if it was damaging, then it would hit Tmax and automatically shut down.
