Am I missing something - Calendar syncing

I've got a 16gig iPhone 2G, best piece of technology I've owned. However, I seem to be running into an issue syncing my calendar from my iPhone to iCal. It doesn't always add the changes or additions I've made to the iPhone calendar to iCal. Can someone provide guidance?

I'm quite busy and while my iPhone is my main source, I like to update iCal so I can print off calendars for my wife etc...

Make sure you have the right option set in iTunes when you sync, and if you get a popup from iCal while syncing make sure you select the right option for merging data.
