I like that feeling. It makes it seem kinda monolithic. The sharp edge is sexy to me.

I keep seeing people complain about the sharp edges but I don't get what the problem is. They're not THAT sharp...

Just perfectly crispy.

Haha no, don't you're not alone. One of the worlds best product designers thinks the same (the person who designed it).
Their marketing and design team won't just design something that's not liked by most people. It's just on here you will see people moan more than praise.

It's one of the best looking electronic products in the world.

I am okay with current design, but it needs to be update. The sharp edges are really sharp. If I type for a long period of time, it hurts a bit. That's why I have a MBA for now. I am waiting for MBP to be redesigned.

man it really hurts a lot, when you type for long periods of time,so i for one,am definitely against the sharp edges. :p

I don't have a problem with it. I can say that if there is a problem is it less pronounced on the 13" which I used to own because of where my forearms come in contact with the MBP. Never noticed it with the 13" but I do with the 15' but it has never been a problem for me

Maybe if the edges were sharpened just a little bit. Maybe not a perfect 90 degree angle. What I definitely don't want is a tapered design. I like the slight blockiness to the MBPs, it gives it a professional look and feel, like it's a piece of equipment. The tapered Airs look and feel cheap to me, like a toy. They feel like they'd break easily.

Look wise its great but typing wise I would imagine the MacBook Air is much more comfortable...The sharp edges do give the MB Pro a very thin look though compared to most other laptops.

I hope the new MBP line coming next week looks totally different. Then I won't feel the urge to upgrade since I just bought my MBP last October.

You're going to be waiting for a long time, the previous non-unibody design last for a whopping 7 years(2001 through 2008).

They just revamped their manufacturing plants to accept the new unibody design, it would be unwise not to milk it some more to get their money's worth, designing the assembly line is expensive.

Honestly man, no i prefer them too, I love the sharp edges.
To me it just addds to the sleekness, and cutting edge feel that the product has, but in an aesthetic sense too.

...

I hate the sharp edge my skin must be fragile because it feels like its slowly taking my hand off

I watched an episode of Survivorman where the guy skinned a bear with his MacBook Pro, what other kind of laptop gives you that utility?

I'm sure you are not the only one who likes them sharp, but for me, having just got a new MBP, the ONE (realistically expectable) thing that would make me run right out and sell it for a new one is if they changed the case design to take away that sharp edge. I hate it!

Even if you type all proper-like (which is not always workable on a laptop, but let's say you do), there is still the uncomfortable edge there when you are web-surfing (i.e. just using the trackpad with one hand down near the front edge).

I've read reviews that say the new MBA's edges are also sharp, but maybe that's not so

Oh well, if they keep the same case you will be happy and I will be "dented" but won't have to go buy a new computer :D

I'm not sure I can answer that question but I'll ask one. wtf was he doing with his MBP in the wild? I mean if thats where he was and why did he feel the need to skin it with a mobile computer? lmao

I wish they just but knives on all edges of the MBP so I could cut my apples in half while surfing the net. Is that so hard? When I try now my apples come out kind of squishy.

I find it visually quite nice. But since I use my laptops as the tools I work with, the Unibody MBP's sharp edges remind me of Apples love of style over everything reasonable. A real pain in the ass.

I think they look really great but for long periods of typing they can really cut off circulation. I think they need to be rounded just a little bit. Mine is the previous generation with the plastic edge around it and that still hurts after a few hours of typing stuff out at work.
