In persona non grata
I keep hearing people speak well of these apps, but they have made me come as close to ripping my hair out as a Windows machine. And it's always the same problem, destination file is not getting created. I mean, the apps SAYS it's ripping and encoding, but you never get an MP4 file to show for it. Anyone have a clue what this could be?

Are you sure you're waiting long enough or are you actually getting an error message?

I just did a little test of my own with Handbreak. It seems if you have it set to 2-pass encoding the file will not be created in the save destination until it starts the second pass.

Depending on your settings and the length of the file encoding can take an extremely long time.

Um, there's this thing with handbrake, you have to wait for a while after the bar is done until the cancel changes back to rip. Otherwise its not done yet.
