I know this is old news but my new 13" M1 MBP does not ever even get warm. I bought it to replace my 12.9" iPad as a 2nd desktop system for my daily stock trading so it mostly sits here streaming CNBC all day. Not once has it felt even warm at any part of the chassis, top or bottom. In fact it feels quite cold. The bottom of my 16" I9 by contrast is noticeably warm doing very similar tasks. Just amazing.

I came from a i9 16" 2019" to Macbook Air base model as a temporary thing to sell my 16". And I'm super impressed. Hooked up to my Huawei Mateview it sits around the 39-40c.

Working without an external monitor it sits between 29c-35c I really cannot complain at all.... Especially when charging.

I'm hoping it stays like this with the 14"

Truly amazing engineering by Apple chip designers and TSMC.

Mid 2022 Apple wil return to a miniature logic board with the upcoming MBA Apple silicon refresh and its rumores to not have a fan.

This means in less than 7yrs Apple has bested Intel with a no fan cpu architecture in a sleek notebook (Intel M3/M5/M7 chips in the defunct MacBook 1 TB3 port).
