i've just got back from the thames festival (had a great time)
anyway, i've been surfing, making phone calls, gps & taking Loads of photos, swapping between apps and generally giving the little thing a really tough time. now before 2.1 my iphone would have been dead after 40mins from that kind of torture; after today's adventure my battery had GONE DOWN 1 BAR!! 1 bar of battery was used all day today!!

Amazing.. thanks apple

Was that a review?
And was it amazing... or merely amazed?

Good lord, that must be some torture. With all bells and whistles enabled, max screen brightness and playing a power hungry 3D game while making a 3G call at the same time, I don't think I could possibly drain the battery in less than 2 hours.

fine.. you guys are so negative thats the last time i'll be posting here

Wait, so I'm honest to goodness not asking this to insult you, but there are battery bars in the 2.1 firmware? There have never been "bars" of battery in the iPhone firmware before?

I was kinda wondering this myself... What percentage of my battery constitutes a "bar"?

I think most of us are tired reading threads where their title has nothing to do with their content. When I clicked to read your thread I though I would find a link to a review of the new firmware but instead all we got was a small paragraph describing how you like the new firmware.
This is not a review! Try to be more precise in the future!

'review' -> 'results' and you wouldn't have had quite so many bitchslaps. I clicked here expecting to find a link to a really glowing review somewhere on the web.

Glad to hear it's going well for you though. ;)
