I mentioned this when I got my iPhone 5, but it is worth mentioning again. When shooting in the dark, don't take a picture right away. Let the camera take a few second to analyze the scene and you will see the noise reduction kick in. You will imediately see the amount of pixalation drop. However, in order for this to happen, you have to hold still for maybe 3 seconds before you see the effect happen.
