Is Applecare that is "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com." safe to buy? (Not talking about marketplace dealers on amazon)

I live in Canada and Applecare from Apple is $279 Canadian dollars

Amazon.com has it for $229 which is $227 Canadian, a $52 savings for me. I have family coming up to Canada from the US which can bring it for me, and I just wanted to make sure I'm OK buying it from Amazon.

Also, can my family just open the applecare, phone me with the "number" and I can register it without the box? I've never bought AC before.

Thanks

yes it's safe to buy.

yes... the number is all you need. you do not need the box.

I purchased my last Apple Care from Amazon.com It arrived at my house 2 days after my year warrantee expired. I sent all the paperwork to Apple. My Mac purchase date and AppleCare purchase date. Within a day, Apple adjusted everything. Just make sure you keep all the paperwork, receipts, etc.

Yes amazon gets a special discount from apple for selling so much and they are nice enough to pass it along to us.
