Amazon today has the USB-C AirPods Max on sale for $479.99 in every color, down from $549.00. This is a second-best price on the USB-C headphones, and only the second time in 2025 that we've tracked any notable sale.

Colors available on sale include Blue, Midnight, Orange, Starlight, and Purple. All colors are still available to be delivered in February, with most providing a delivery estimate around February 15 for free shipping options. Prime members in certain cities should be able to see same-day delivery options.

Still overpriced when you can get competing headsets that are comparatively stronger then the AP Max for the same, if not less then this new 'discounted' rate!.....

Still needs to be similar priced down to $399 range IMHO. That’s what I paid for my planar transducer based cans with very low distortion low end performance. There is a lot more consumers out there as you drop the list closer to the mainstream competition vendors such as B&W Px7 S2e. :)

I have them and the AirPods Pro 2.0. Get the Pros. Between the greatly improved sound (over v1) and the portability, they are a much better choice over the Max. I rarely use my Max.

These prices are so silly

I have and love my APM Gen1s ... but only for "what they are" and because the cost is well "sunk" at this point
...and I only paid $350 for them brand new to begin with

I would never -- never -- pay more than about $250 for these in 2025

I tried a pair on the other day in an Apple Store. Never had worn them before or listened to them. They fit pretty good, and sound was decent, but I noticed clipping or the lack of low end when listening to them. Might have been the pair, or the song, but I would never spend $500 on these. I have a pair of AirPod Pro 2s and not sure what the advantage would be?

The sound is a little more spacious and the comfort is "different" with cans vs buds

The controls are a bit more convenient, to me, on the APM -- I personally very much like the Digital Crown

(I own APM and APP2)

They need H2...only because I like to use them as earmuffs during winter and I like to answer my notifications with some head bobs.

Not a huge discount and it is still very expensive. I would not be buying one at these prices. At around $300 or so can consider it. But if one is specifically looking out to buy this product, then not expecting much better prices any time soon and maybe could consider it.
