iPod touch Amazon Kindle App and txt files?

Hello,
I have a few books on my computer that are in .txt file. I was wondering if i put them on my ipod touch (i assume in some folder like the old ipods with a hard drive mode or something) will amazon kindle app be able to read them?

If not. Is there some sort of reader that will be able to read them, so I can read them like a book. Assuming they are formatted right and everything?
