Amazon Maps? Better looking than iOS6 Maps?

Amazon is going to buy UpNext Maps for $2.8 million according to WSJ; you can see and download (it's free) UpNext Maps running on an iPhone:

Looks pretty neat, I'm downloading it now to try it out. Free is nice too. It is over 500MB in size though.

Didn't say it was better or worse. This is the app that is currently out, w/out any modifications or improvements that Amazon will surely do when they re-release it.

Would like to know your opinion on why it's not better instead of the one-liner.

That is for the iPad version I guess. I had wifi off and I got the 500mb warning. So I turned wifi back on and downloaded it.

I swear it said 500MB; I promise. Must have been a typo on the part of the app or iOS.

EDIT: So I deleted the iPad app, turned off WiFi and re-downloaded it. This time it says 50MB. Apparently I'm quite blind at times.
