Scanning the "iPad Killer" threads over the last year, my takeaway is that the two major disadvantages have been:
1) The ecosystem;
2) The price.
Finally, we may have a true volume competitor (not a killer) on the horizon: the Amazon tablet:
1) They have the media library to back it up with a recognizable brand name: equates to ease of use for non-techies;
2) They will most probably aggressively subsidize the list price, possibly as much as $200, knowing that they will make it up in media sales. Didn't I read that Apple subscribers are worth $150/year to Apple?
