Early deals for Prime Big Deal Days are flowing in this weekend, and now include the AirPods Max (Lightning) for $399.00 in every color, down from $549.00. This if the first time in a few weeks that we've seen the 2020 AirPods Max drop this low, and overall this is just about $5 higher when compared to their all-time low price.

This deal is available in all five colors: Green, Pink, Silver, Sky Blue, and Space Gray. All colors have had the sale applied automatically with the exception of Pink, which does require an on-page coupon in order to see the final sale price at checkout.

If you're looking for the new USB-C models of the AirPods Max, there aren't any steep discounts seen yet on Amazon. However, you can save a small amount of money on select models, starting at $534.99 for the Purple AirPods Max.

Meh… maybe for $299.

earlier today there was this deal (maybe price glitch)? $278 for the blue pair with applecare included. I was able to order a pair lol

This sucks for those of us who favored AirPods Max from the beginning. Pretty much all Maxs fail within 2 years if used as earmuffs for winter (not even while raining…), or if too often used with non-Apple Bluetooth devices/dongles.

So I can’t in good conscience buy a new 2020 one after I sold my 2020 Max near new after getting them repaired free for the third time by Apple.

Nor can I even entertain buying these “new” ones, which STILL come with H1 and don’t even allow for wired listening like the 2020 ones did!!!

Basically, unless they make AirPods Max 2, which at this point we just have no clue if they ever will, I’m stuck without my favorite headphones ever for yet another year…

Dude!!!! NO!!! Augh!! That had to be a typo!!

This is the kinda deal I’d take, one that totally ****s Apple and helps the consumer.

It’s the least they owe us at this point when they intentionally keep selling headphones that break from moisture in the heat OR cold!!

I managed to snag this to and it’s already shipped 😍

What is the temperature rating for AirPods? Not sure if I’d use them as ear muffs.
Apple AirPods Max are designed to operate in temperatures between 32° and 95° F (0° and 35° C). Using AirPods Max outside of this range can cause the device to change its behavior to regulate its temperature, or it may temporarily or permanently shorten the battery life.

Regardless, I can’t/won’t use regular earmuffs and yet I need some, so Max’s have to do… They worked fine through 2 extreme winters before kaputting.

I got mine from eBay for around $300 two years ago. They were received as a gift to the seller and were opened but never used. I do like them but think with their features, or lack there of at this point when compared to the AirPods Pro 2, just a port update isn’t even close to being worth it. I’ll be holding out for AirPods Max 2 if Apple ever makes them but I’ve got a funny feeling they won’t. They debuted at way too high of a price to be a hit with consumers. Now if Apple would’ve not just updated the port but brought feature parity with the Air Pods Pro 2 I’d take a hard look at a refurbished, open box or used pair in the $300 to $400 price range but no more than that.

For some reason my JBL Live500 Bluetooth headphones have to be disconnected, relocated in the Bluetooth panel and reconnected by my Mac every time I want to use it. Same issue whether I'm using the Mac Studio or late model MacBook Air. My ancient Beats wireless ear pods have no problem whatsoever. Maybe JBL is using an early Bluetooth protocol? The JBLs are about four-five years old.

Nearly 4 year old headphones selling for $400. Sheesh.
You realize they’re not actually four years old right? These are new ones made probably recently.

I would like to see a newer version come out but even if a new version was released today it’s not going to be this big night and day difference. You’re going to have some new Bluetooth connection features, a slight improvement in ANC and maybe longer battery life. I don’t even think I would buy them because my current pair work just fine.

Of course they weren’t “made” 4 years ago, duh. The tech is, however, 4 years old. And yes, we all want new features.

I still have my originals I bought when they first came out, I don't use them that often but not because I don't like them. The only thing I would like to see them do is add some way to turn them off instead of relying on them timing out or using the case. Even if they turned off when rotating the headphones as if you were putting them in the case, turned them off that would be pretty nice.

It's honestly kind of impressive that Apple's 1st gen products are engineered so good, the only improvement a half a decade later (well, almost) is a new charging connector. That's how you know they get it right the first time... nearly always. Pretty impressive, IMO.

I guess you’re never going to buy a pair of wired headphones because that tech is over 100 years old 😂

My point is some things don’t evolve that much in such a short period. There has been no significant evolution of headphones in the past four years that I’m aware of. If someone makes a big evolution then you wouldn’t want to buy the old tech

No. What's impressive is Apple can get away with making virtually zero improvement to a product after 4 years because people will still buy it.

This! Something as basic as turning something on or off to save battery life shouldn’t require some stupid poorly thought out algorithm. I know Johnny and many at Apple are minimalists but if they can add an Action button and a camera button to their phone in successive years then they can add a small power button to their large, over the ear headphones.

$400 is what they should be worth.

Apple was selling them for $150 too much.

Just like the $800 wheel kit for the 2019 Mac Pro. Totally NUTS!
