Amazon this week is taking $50 off Wi-Fi models of Apple's 11th generation iPad. Prices start at $299.00 for the 128GB Wi-Fi iPad, down from $349.00, a second-best price on this model.

Additionally, Amazon has the 256GB Wi-Fi iPad for $399.00 ($50 off) and the 512GB Wi-Fi iPad for $599.00 ($50 off). Free delivery estimates are placed around August 17 for these iPad models, but Prime members should be able to get same-day delivery in many locations.

The 11th generation iPad is mainly a spec bump for the tablet line, now featuring the A16 chip and more storage, with the same design as the 10th generation iPad. The new ‌iPad‌ starts with 128GB of storage, and is also available in 256GB and a new 512GB configuration. The previous model was only available in 64GB and 256GB configurations.

Not being facetious, genuinely wondering: Is it better to buy a new, budget iPad or a gently used, older iPad Pro 11” for a similar price?

If you've never owned an iPad before, and your needs are simple, I recommend buying the new, budget model. If you don't experience the differences between them, you'll be blissfully ignorant of them and save a lot of money in the future.

And if you like the entry level iPad after you get it, stop reading MR threads about the pro, lol.

I’d also advise going with this new, base iPad. I used a 10th-generation model for about a year after my iPad Pro was destroyed in an accident. The base model was surprisingly good and handled everything I needed to do with it. Plus, the new model will enjoy a one-year warranty, will be eligible for Apple Care if you want it and have official Apple support longer. If you don’t think you need AI on your iPad, go with the 11th-gen base model.

This is still $20 more than the lowest price in the last couple of months.

I have stopped buying any screen that is not running at least 90 if not 120Hz native refresh rate. I’d go with an older iPad Pro over this any day is just my preference. My 2019 iPad Pro 11” works like a charm. Amazing screen. Exceptional speakers. And more than adequate performance.

The older iPad Pros (unless you get an A12X or A12Z model - don’t recommend those) will be objectively better devices than this iPad
