Amazon today has a few models of Apple's M4 Mac mini at all-time low prices, starting at $499.00 for the model with 16GB RAM/256GB SSD, down from $599.00. Discounts reach up to $200 off in these sales, and include both M4 and M4 Pro models.

You can also get the M4 Mac mini with 16GB RAM/512GB SSD for $699.00 on Amazon, down from $799.00, and the model with 24GB RAM/512GB SSD for $899.00, down from $999.00. Delivery dates have slipped into April for all models of the Mac mini.

Apple updated the Mac mini back in October 2024, introducing a redesigned computer that's smaller than the previous generation and featuring the M4 and M4 Pro chips. Regarding the M4 Pro model, Amazon also has that device on sale for $1,199.00, down from $1,399.00, which is a match for the all-time low price on this model.

Excellent!

And a quick look just showed that the M4 Pro Mini is $100 less than education pricing. Other models may have same or lower than ed. pricing as well, I didn't look further.

Banger deal… anyone looking for a desktop machine right now you know what to do

I know I am beating a dead horse but the price for the storage upgrade is insane.

I thought you might get more cores or memory, but the $200 upgrade only includes a measly 256 GB SSD upgrade.

The base option is a good value, but any upgrade kills it.

I understand that if you need the memory, then you have to pay the Apple tax, but I don’t see how any but the most die hard fans would ever get the storage upgrades. I would just buy external storage. Even thunderbolt storage options would be way cheaper and I doubt most would notice the difference.

The base M4 Pro seems less desirable to me than the base M2 Pro did when that came out. The regular base M4 model is so powerful, it's difficult to justify almost trebling the cost for a couple extra cores etc.

Great deal, expecially when you combine this with a DIY 2TB SSD upgrade and save a combined $580.

It’s very unfortunate but thankfully there are 3rd party replacement SSDs now that are cheaper and faster than Apples offerings. Downside is you need a 2nd Mac to restore the Mini after you’ve completed the upgrade.

It's annoying having to deal with "System Data" on the internal 256 GB SSD taking up 136 GB of space. I don't know what's going on but that's what I've been dealing with here, keeping the internal as the boot device and using the external for data storage which is likely what most people would do. Apple really needs to fix storage usage in MacOS if it's not going to offer 512 GB as base. (Or maybe frustrating people into expensive upgrades is a feature and not a bug for Apple).

A TB external SSD is <$100. I see Amazon has a Crucial 2 TB external for $120 on special.

Microcenter has these prices for in-store all the time. And Best Buy will price match both Amazon and Microcenter (If a Microcenter has a store in the Area, that is).
I didn't know that.
I really don't want to buy a Mini on Amazon because theire delivery service is terrible.
If Best Buy will match it I just walk into the store and pick it up.
I was going to trade in my 2018 Mini for $165 at an Apple Store but this way I can keep my old Mini in case I ever had to bring in the new one for service

Thank you for mentioning this, I just bought it with the price match from Best Buy.
Now I can hold onto my current Mini as a back up.
Excited! My current Mini has been driving me nuts

UR welcome :). I should point out that Best Buy's policy with Amazon is that it has to be sold by Amazon. A lot of stuff is just shipped from Amazon, so people need to double check this. In this case Amazon is selling them.

Now with Microcenter, it has to be in the 'area', and also it's supposed to actually be in-stock, but depending on the Best Buy person, it might not matter. I'm saying this as Microcenter discounts most if not All Apple stuff by 15% (in-store only), so things like the new MacBook Air M4 are selling out quickly. Pice-matching those could be challenging.

Plus it has to be in stock. There were 4 left on Amazon when I contacted Best Buy

That is a very good price, same as the education prices. Mac mini is a very good computer and at that price, it makes it even more attractive.

Checkout this video for cheaper internal storage:

Otherwise the combi of Samsung Evo 990 Plus and a Colorii enclosure (which is the same as this one and this one) is good external storage.
