The idea of AmbiLauncher is to make switching from app to app faster. It's hard to invent something better than shortcuts. So my approach is keyless and event buttonless. To launch the apps you just need to make a quick move with pointer to the edge of screen and back. It's fast and simple. It's convenient with TrackPad and mouse.
It can also run AppleScript scripts.

P.S. Please don't worry about huge illuminated color zones on borders. They can be resized to zero width, the transparency can be adjusted as well.
