Discuss. Implications for near-future Mac Pro/MacBook Pro models (architecturally), essentially slightly more than a doubling of performance per watt over Southern/Canary Islands (7/8K series). :apple:

Near future? None.
Those are 20nm parts and will not hit until 2014.
It seems to be virtually the same as 7000M GCN arch. just on 20nm. Maybe they update to 20nm GPUs in Februar or later. I would assume that Nvidia's Maxwell is more likely though. They currently lead in power efficiency.
AMD's GCN is better in GPGPU but that doesn't seem to matter yet for non pros. Apple never bothered with Pro-Level graphics not even as an option.

All indications point to a late third/early fourth quarter 2013 release (at least of the desktop counterparts); mobile offerings should follow in quick succession.
