Ameritrade stock app (Can anyone confirm this app???)

Release Date Aug 8th

The website says release date Aug 8th. I downloaded the bloomberg one and it is not real time. v:apple:

I can confirm this (I am the developer)
App will be between 08-01-08 and 08-08-08.
It will have real time quotes, trading, level II and much more.
It will be free, but you will need an TD Ameritrade account.
It will be available through the AppStore.

It looks nice but please give me candlestick charting and some basic indicators, i.e. moving averages, rsi, etc.

Charge money if you have to!!!

Also, i'm assuming there will be a password screen somewhere so that if my phone gets stolen, no one can just stroll into my td ameritrade account and do something they aren't supposed to?

Application will remain free forever.
Password can be saved or not (it's an option)
If you ask me, I don't like to put it everytime and if someone stoles my iPhone, I would use remote wipe.
Some more indicators had been added an more are coming.
Candlestick charting, not yet, but soon.
I will open a forum for users to "ask" for new features.

Hope you like this app.
 
This looks like exactly what I've been hoping for. I like Bloomberg, but every day I wish I had something in real time. And since I DO have an Ameritrade account, this should be just right. Sweet.
 
ok nice!! quick question is it possible to have one for scottrade or other brokers??

secondly. How will it work on the 2g edge network not the 3g?/

or is wifi recomended

edit:just read the thing on brokers..but I want to know how it work without wifi..

Just TD Ameritrade.
I tested it on EDGE and works perfect. Of course, wifi and 3G also great. But it doesn't need much bandwidth.

if this works alright, would not mind paying for it! bought time I got real-time.

Love the app from what I see.
Can I toss in a request or two?

In the stock monitor page, can you make the %change column sortable so I can see my best and worst stock performers that day.
Same on the Bal and Pos tab, Positions page. I'd love to sort by $ and % contribution to the portfolio. (A bigger position up $1 will contribute more then a small position up $5).

On the Balances page, can I see the change of total portfolio in % too.

And lastly, what pricing were you looking at?

Yes, I had planed to do something like that (I also like to have things ordered) but it could be a litle confussing, since quotes change so fast and you need to press them they could start jumping.
Though they could be sorted only when presssing a button or during a 10 sec period. I will put this feature soon.

The app is FREE.
 
Hey MaxMaxMax, I like what I see. This app is what made me choose the iPhone over other phones. :)

A few requests:

- In the General video, it shows that $27748.93 at the top of the screen. I take it that is the account value? Can you make it an option so I don't have to show it if I don't want to? I don't want people to be able to see what my account is worth.

- Also, when touching a stock on the main screen, can you have a summary tab that tells the volume for the day, avg daily volume, high, low, 52 week high, 52 week low?

- When looking at charts, can you let me choose to see it using the OHLC format instead of the Line format? And I need to have the Volume below the chart!

- In the Trading video, I see that when you hit "Place Order", it sends the order immediately. Can you have an option so that it can pop up a little confirmation with all the order details and the current bid/ask and asking you if you are sure if you want to place the order? I frequently hit the Order button, only to change my mind at the confirmation popup.

Good job so far. Can't wait to test it out. Hope Ameritrade is treating you well. :)

Everything you asked for is already implemented, except for the candlestick chart.
The videos are a little old.

That's really one GREAT app if it's really doing what you've advertised. I'm willing to pay $100 for it if you were to charge it.

Can you give us the exact, sure date that it would be available for download? It's so that I can stay up the night before to wait for it. Really, I'm counting minutes waiting for it. I went and bought the iphone just because what I saw in your video.
 
Max, another thing about the charts... would it be possible to do that two-finger thing to zoom-in and zoom-out on charts?

Same here! I've been trading a lot recently, love the volatility with those financials. Going on vacation in a month, and want to be able to keep up while I'm gone!

Videos where my demos for Ameritrade. The app is quite more mature and complex now (many new features also). A more "complex" charting will come eventually (not for the first release).
If everything goes with the plan you'll be able to use it on 08-08-08.

We've had a delay due to Apple. The app will be available before September.
The site will be up again on Monday, with a forum.

Max, The sooner the better, please. I've been counting minutes for this app. You're killing me by saying "September".
