Maybe a stupid question but this is my first iPhone.

I just added over 2GB of music to my phone and was wondering if the phone will no perform slower. Like a computer when you add more stuff, it tends to get slower, does this happen with the iPhone in terms of internet and applications on the phone?

Adding more stuff to your iPhone would be akin to adding more programs to your computers hard drive. It is there and ready to be used but does not actually have an impact on the ability of the device to operate at the same speed.

On the computer you would have a slow down if you ran multiple programs at once. On the iphone, with a few built in exceptions (like the iPod), you can't run multiple programs at once. So just having 2 gigs of songs on your phone should not impede the speed of its operation at all.

For a hard drive, the less space there is, the less virtual memory there is. This is not the case for Flash memory. Flash memory does not have this problem. iPhone = flash memory.
