It uses the same type of account to MSN for windows.

aMSN is good, although it can be glitchy at times. It's got webcam which is something most of them seem to lack...

i use amsn and it is decent.. but... the webcam wont seem to work for me.. it says im behind a firewall or router and no matter what settings i change for my router, still no joy.....

hopefully the people at amsn will upgrade this program soon because msn messenger on windows is alot more advanced.....

Peruvian, did you try Mercury? It seems to me that Mercury is more forgiving about whatever angers aMSN and causes it not to let you webcam....

FWIW, both aMSN and Mercury do webcam for me without modification. Sadly neither supports videoconferencing (AV).

Mercury does support AV conferences, but it's in beta right now. Check this out.

I just installed mercury and instantly, its better than amsn... So to the person who started this thread.... Download mercury for macs.

aMSN has lots of adjustment options for camera characteristics, but if Mercury does, I have not found them yet. Hehehe, I did the opposite -- I am webcamming on aMSN right now! Having gain / brightness control is really helpful.

Are you using an integrated iSight? (MB/MBP) I seem to remember an issue with blue screens coming from the integrated iSights... Try searching for this....

Check the Mercury forums for a more recent beta to fix the issue.

Nearly all of the developers of it have given up, it is now left to one guy to do it. From what i understand, he is not really doing much for it at the moment. i also use Mercury as it looks a lot better than say aMsn.

I find with ichat I look blue on my camera too ?
