An Avi Repair Program?

Is there a program out there for os x that will repair an avi file that has gone choppy? It was working fine a few months ago, I haven't opened it since then, and now it's all choppy and the sound is out of sync.
Does anyone know of a program that will "repair" it?

Try VLC, if you haven't already. If it feels the file needs repairing, it'll offer you this option when you try playing it.
