1) Place phone flat on the table with front facing you.
2) Wait for signal bars to become stable.
3) Take your left index finger, and place it against the bottom left seam of the phone so that it touches both of the metal parts.
4) Wait about five seconds, and the signal will start dropping.

Silly people. This is the Elecrocardiogram feature of the phone that just hasn't been fully implemented yet.

Done it dozens of times now on my i4....bars start at 5, bars stay at 5.

Not that it matters. AT&T will drop a call at 5 bars or none. Totally random.

Mine will do it it I hold it like a normal phone...

Although, I have NOT dropped a single call in the 10 hours i've had it up and running.

That's way better than the old 3GS would do.

I don't have my 4 yet but this is so true with my 3GS. Bars don't mean a thing to me. I can have full bars or no bars I always have the same call reception and when calls drop they drop out of no where, irregardless of the bars.

I don't lose signal. In fact, my signal went from two bars to three bars when I touched the iPhone 4 as you describe.

Hmm... maybe I got it excited?

So far I have only lost signal in places where the 3GS calls broke up so much they were unusable but still showing 1 or 2 bars. At least the 4 is more honest. But on the positive side, if I don't bridge the 2 antennas I get a great sounding call with plenty of bars in places it was impossible to do the same with the 3GS.

i did this test, then proceded to use both hands and cover the whole antenna area around the phone & neither dropped anything still 5 full bars for me

and no yellow screen! I guess that means i win? :apple:
