Here is a little bit of Apple trivia. In the Beginning, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, the founders of the company, picked Apple for their computer's name. Apple is also the name of the recording company set up by the Beatles. Apple Studio sued Apple over the name. It was settled out of court that as long as the Apple computer could not do music, it was OK. That changed later on when the Macintosh was able to do MIDI music, Apple Studio again sued. The was an ongoing battle, which Apple Computer lost. Finally, with iTunes, Apple Computer purchased the Apple trademark and Green Apple outright for an undisclosed amount and simply licensed the Apple marque back to Apple Studio as part of the agreement. A hidden part of this battle was an alert sound still found in the macOS alert sounds library. This legacy middle finger sound was originally called “Sosumi. After Apple purchased the Apple trademark, this middle finger to Apple Studio, and the Beatles' alert sound’s name was changed to Sonomi.
