I came across this website, about this person who got herself a MacBook Pro, and ended up getting the money back + more, by selling ad space on her MacBook Pro...
Here is a picture

and here is her blog that talks about the project...

haha not to be mean but this has been on the internet for a while now. i think leah culver is more well known in the web 2.0 community for this.

anyways i thought it was a great idea when i heard about it. and when i saw the pictures, i was blown away, IMO it looks great.

ive seen attempts to copy her idea but i havent seen any that have succeeded. but i think more people are engraving their laptops because of it

It seems like this has the potential to backfire, what if no one wants advertising space on your computer.
Someone on here thought they would buy a car and sell advertising on it to pay it off, never heard anything else about it...

Of all the companies shown on that laptop, the only ones I'm familiar with are Digg and Ask.com, and seeing those names does not make me feel any more inclined to visit any of those sites (including those two that I've heard of).

Do advertisers really think this stuff works?

She's now got an IPTV show as well, and is a co-founder of Pownce. Pays to be capable and above all presentable!

I got an effectively almost free iMac recently. Mind you, I had to pay Apple quite a lot of money first before that happened.
