Hello, So I have a question.

I use Logic Express 9 and I play guitar, I was wondering if Logic could listen to an analog guitar input (1/4 inch or Microphone) *basically anything but MIDI* and convert it to a visual file of sheet music or modern guitar tabs? So it would be easier to share songs with fellow musicians and etc.

I know Logic has the sheet music feature for keyboards? *I think, I'm fairly new to Logic and I'm still a newbie to professional audio*

If Logic can't convert, Is there any other application that can?

Edit-

No one?

Hi Benguitar. I’ve also been searching for an app that would convert a (guitar) audio file into notation or TAB, but with little or no success. Of course there are apps like Capo, ReChord, and others, but of course they only give the chords, not the notation or TAB. However, there is a great app, in my opinion - AudioStretch. I only use iPad, but you can import music files into AudioStretch, and the keyboard is shown. The (multiple) notes being played - the original sound, not MIDI - are shown by lines above the various notes on the keyboard. (The only downside is that the harmonics associated with the notes/Chords also show.) But the great thing about AudioStretch is that the music can be slowed down to just 5% speed of the original - it goes in 5% increments all the way down from 100% - i.e. normal speed, without any change in pitch. Also, the pitch can be changed in semitone increments. Finally, apart from the great (and easy) way of selecting just a part - however short - of the music, and playing it back in a loop, by just touching the waveform you can get that single (or multiple) notes to play! [Reckon it would also help those wanting to learn a new language, as long as the audio files can be exported.] Hope this may help.
