I currently use an ADS Tech Analog/DV Converter... and it's given me nothing but trouble. It tends to glitch up when playing out from the computer, and seems to lock up (no video; buttons on the unit won't respond) when bringing video in to the computer from an analog deck. (I'm using Beta SP; so I would seriously doubt I'm running into control problems like those a VHS deck might have) This is my second unit from ADS; the first had the same problems.
Anyway, I'm looking for a new converter -- one that would be more reliable (read: usable). I'm looking in the $200 range, so I've looked at Datavideo's DAC-200 converter, or Grass Valley's Canopus ADVC-110.
Does anyone here have a suggestion as to a good, reliable converter? Any suggestions/reviews would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
