Hi ! I want to convert my vhs to dvd by using a canonz85 minidv cam.
I plug the video to the cam and in avdv option on, i see the vhs playin in my cam in play mode. But i can't import to imovie in av dv mode set to on. Sometime it read the tape because it control the dv, and other time don't display the import button. I just want it to record the vhs playing in my cam. Is it possible ? Or maybe with an other software ?
(connect with firewire)

I can't record the vhs on my dvtape. Maybe the zr85 can't do this.

What can I do ?

I think you will have to record the data on the dv tape first then import. Not sure if it will work like a straight ADC.

The other problem is i can't copy the vhs to the dv tape as you mention. In record mode my cam don't have the feature of av dv out in the menu. :(

goto the canon website and download the manual. the lastest manual and page 85 has step by step instructions.
