I need to import some VHS tapes so I can burn them to DVD... what Analog-to-Digital converter would you all recommend?

thanks,

Any mac compatible tv card should do the job absolutely fine. Just make sure its not USB1.1 because USB1.1 TV cards have to use a horrible compression to get the signal to the PC. USB2 ones are fine though.

I currently have no idea what to get. I'm hoping for a firewire interface rather than USB2. Currently the only one I've seen is the eyeTV from elgato which is quite expensive.

Echoing an earlier post, I digitize from VHS onto miniDV using the S-video inputs on my camcorder. Then, I capture from the miniDV to my Mac. Even though this is a two step process, it has the advantage of producing a nice digital backup of my analog source.

heh next to analog to digital convertor for video :p

I thought this was on topic of like 8 or 16 bit adc for a electronic project :p
