ANC is worse in the new pro 3 and worse sound

In so angry with Apple, my fave product is AirPods Pro 2 and love them, the new ones not only do not sound better but the anc is worse I spent an hour on a London train and the anc with pro 2 got rid of the whole sound of the train and when I put the 3 in I can hear the train. The seal is fine and I put them in tightly. How is this 2x better? Even the sound quality is a downgrade for me, the pro 2 have full sound and nice low bass; I don’t get any strong bass with the new ones and the sound is tiny. These are not an upgrade but a downgrade. If anyone doesn’t want to believe me try them your self side by side.

The video linked below is only this reviewer's initial impression listening to a couple tracks, but he said he prefers the lows of the Pro 2, and the mids and treble of the Pro 3. (But I think he said the bass was too strong in at least one of the songs, not weak.)

A lot of this is subjective to the listener, plus the type of music one listens to, but he seems pretty knowledgeable so I'm looking forward to his more in depth review that he said is coming.

Any difference in sound quality between the two is minimal, and which is better is a matter of preference. But there's no question that the ANC is better in the Pro 3. It's much better. Tested against blender, vacuum cleaner, street noise, etc., the Pro 3 are far more effective at canceling the sound. It's not close. They are also far better at canceling out voices.

I think they sound better, but just my opinion. They fit me much better than previous. But not sure why you are angry with Apple, just return them and keep using your favorite 2's.

On a train I could hear the train move with them and with pro 2 its silent; maybe my pro 2 are just that good

Because a product that I love had an upgrade that isn’t yearly and it’s much worse for me that’s why; they ruined the great sound in pro 2
 
I honestly think there might be something wrong with your pair, and I'm not usually one to say anyone having issues has a defective one either (in fact I really hate it when people do that).

The ANC is something I use every day, and it's night and day better on my APP3. I walked past some heavy machinery yesterday that was really loud and the APP3 reduced it down to almost nothing. I also don't have to turn my podcast up to hear it over my coffee grinder like I do with the APP2.

I'm on the fence about whether the sound is improved, and they're definitely not as comfortable in my ears, but holy crap the ANC is insane compared to APP2 in my experience.

@Kylo83 You really should consider qualifying your complaints by saying the APP3 are worse than the APP2 for you. Other people are finding them to be just as good or better than the 2's.

Audio is wholly subjective to the listener. It is pretty much impossible to have a definitive conclusion on sound for everybody. Two people can hear the same thing and have two very different experiences. This is why in the audiophile community there are so many knock down, drag out fights over which sounds better, analog or digital, or do cables matter the more expensive they are, et, al.

I bought the APP3 and I am returning them. Not so much because of the ANC or sound quality, but because the physical design changes are worse for my ears and after a short while they would begin to hurt my ear canals. This is something the APP2 did not do to my ears.

What is with the influx of this nonsense? The difference is huge in terms of anc. If you can’t hear it then either you are using the wrong tips, the wrong setting (adaptive instead of noise cancelling) or you have issues with your ears.

No it is a fact the anc is worse and also sound quality, when you compare side by side and one I can hear the train move then that shows me the anc is worse

I know how to use them lol and the tips I changed around makes no difference, the pro 2 cut out more sound than the pro 3

Yeah it’s a downgrade in design as well just like the iPhone. It hurts the ears and is horrible, how does Apple keep making horrible choices for new products, pro 2 are perfect

As the anc is better on app3, the evidence would suggest otherwise. You can pretend it isn’t, but if the overwhelming number of reviews and measurements show the app3 is better. It becomes clear you are wrong. No need to get emotional.

The app3 are better in every way. I would suggest you return them.

It's a fact that the APP3 are worse FOR YOU. But for the vast majority of people posting here, the APP3 are better. Are you suggesting they are all wrong, or lying?

yes because I done a test with both and again ill say the same thing over and over, the pro 2 made the train disappear the noise, where as on the pro 3 I could still hear it, so with my test the pro 3 was worse, if you dont like my personal opinion you can chill

so maybe my pro 2 are just better, I aint lying, others have said the sound is better when its not, on reddit many agreeing with me, reviews and a apple forum isnt fact

I compared mine side by side on a loud home treadmill, multiple times, and the ANC on the 3's was better. And I find the sound quality to be better. And that's a fact - for me.
