I'm travelling to San Fransisco next week and I have scheduled a tour of Anchor Brewing for the occasion.

I wanted to bring something for them as a gift, and need a little help regarding their bottles. Does anyone have a bottle in the fridge? I need to know the height, widest width and placement of the label on the bottle.

I make and sell wooden beer holders and wanted to give one to however might appreciate it at the brewery. I just need to know if the bottles fit my standard box ;)

I don't have any anchor beer to verify, but their bottles have always seemed to be a similar diameter to all other beer bottles. They're a little shorter than most due to their unique shape.

That's a nice idea.

All I have is one of the Christmas/New Year's Ales that somehow survived the holidays. It's:

height: ~19.5cm
width: ~6cm
label: it starts about 2cm from the bottom, and is about 6.5 cm tall. Not sure if the Christmas label is the same as the others.

Have a great time in SF.

I think you're searching for needle in a haystack by asking on here.

And it took only 5 hours and 27 minutes to find the needle in the haystack.

The interwebs, man.

ALSO: I lived in SF for 3 years. Why have I not heard of this brewery? I failed at life.

Must remedy this next time I'm in town.

Great question, because it's everywhere out here!

Thank you guys, this is absolutely amazing!

I live in a fairly small town in Norway and we used to have a bar that kept 50 different beers in stock. Two of them were Anchor Brewing beers. Very good beer!

Sadly, they closed their doors earlier this year so I was unable to verify bottle measurements!

This is just amazing ;)

EDIT

Btw, this is what they look like:

Now, I'm curious... What's your favorite brewery? If I ever see Anchor Brewing beer I'll have to try it .

Well, the fun and excitement about beer is that you rarely and ever land on just one favourite ;)

I´d have to say, so far; the black bottle in my picture is a Konrad Stout (Russian Imperial) from Lervig Aktiebryggeri in Stavanger, Norway. It has got to be the best stout I´ve ever had and I´ve tried quite a few around the world. The brewery also has other good beers, and it being local (2 hour drive and a ferry ride over a fjord) it has got to be by favourite local brewery.

I also like beers from the Highland Brewery at Orkney, Scotland.

Other than that, I try as much as I can wherever I am :)

Nice beer carrier! I like the opener.

I've tried to get on the Anchor tour a couple times when I've been in the bay area, but it's always been full. I need to plan ahead more.

"as much as I can" is the best way to go about tasting beer ;).

You should be able to find them at your local bevmo at the craft beer section
