An old G3 iMac (first slot load model) at work seems to be dying. The screen brightness fluctuates wildly from very washed out to too dark.

It's definitely not software, and it's too old to be worth putting any significant amount of time or money into, but it seems a shame to scrap it. Maybe I can make a project of it.

So... all I'm really wondering is if anybody happens to have seen this particular problem and know if there's a moderately-easy-to-replace part that I might be able to get off eBay or wherever to fix it.
