I'm loving everything about the i4 but I simply can't get the phone to hold a signal long enough to talk while holding it because of either the hardware or software issues. I was just trying to call my wife to tell her there was a huge storm coming and she couldn't hear me after a few seconds when the bars started dropping.

I can't believe this but I'm actually contemplating bailing on my Apple Store reservation tomorrow. This phone is apparently a wreck :/

held a 24 minute FaceTalk conversation just fine. Signal seems a little bit more weak than before, but not enough to ruin a call.

Could it be that there's a "huge storm" in your area or headed your way?

This phone is amazing (at least mine is problem free) however this antenna "bug" rather its hardware or software related has pretty much rendered my iPhone 4 useless as a phone. Unless Apple steps up and offers some type of resolution quickly I will have no choice but to reactivate my 3GS.

The storm was not even in our county when I made the call, if I just hold the phone normal my signal drops right off into Searching...

I wonder how much location has to do with it. I've been on several calls this afternoon for a couple of hours total. No reception problems at all, and no dropped calls.

I have had my phone since mid day, made numerous calls with it and have had zero problems.

I am sure it's just another bug that will be fixed with a patch to OS4. Apple may be working quickly on this issue. Might be worth holding off for a while.

My 3GS is already sold, so I can't go back. I even returned the Go-phone I was using, so I have NO cell phone at all. God I hope mine is OK! I will be getting one tomorrow at the Apple Store (yes, I do have a reservation and yes, I will be showing up early).

I have not had any problems with mine. I actually get better reception while talking at my desk at work. Whenever I sat in a certain spot it would go to edge now it stays at 3g with three bars, and that is with me holding it.

was just thinking the storm could have interrupted your signal, sounded like you were implying the storm was close to you and headed in her direction. was just a thought.

Yea im woundring if it has to do with location. people that are losing signal should post location to.

I lose signal when I hold the phone by hand. I bought a bumper style case (incipio) it does not lose signal with that on as much.
